Faculty of Architecture
The Faculty of Architecture of the Poznan University of Technology educates students in the following fields: architecture of I and II cycle studies, interior architecture of I cycle studies and postgraduate studies: spatial planning.
The Faculty is one of the four Faculties of Architecture at technical universities in Poland, which has a category A awarded to the best scientific units, in accordance with the current parametric assessment of scientific units carried out by the Committee for Evaluation of Scientific Units.
The Polish Accreditation Commission awarded the Faculty of Architecture the highest grade - distinguishing architecture degree course in February 2018.
The faculty is also accredited by KAUT (Accreditation Commission of Technical Universities) and is awarded the European quality certificate EUR-ACE® Label.
The curriculum is based on innovative teaching methods (including e-learning), and the content of education reflects modern achievements in the disciplines of architecture and urban planning and visual arts. Most of the classes conducted at the Faculty are practical (tutorials, laboratories, projects). The study program provides education in the area of competences and skills that have a direct impact on the quality of the designed space. Scientific research conducted at the Faculty, related to the field of study, provides students with the opportunity to participate in seminars, symposia or conferences, also preparing them for scientific and research work. We are constantly improving our teaching facilities and laboratory base, and our activities are aimed at moving in the perspective of half of this year the Architecture Faculty to a new building in the Warta Campus, which is one of the most modern teaching facilities in Poland. By constantly adapting to the evolving expectations of the labour market, our graduates possessing the necessary resource of knowledge, skills and social competences, successfully find employment not only in the country but also abroad.
Our students are also winners of many prestigious national and international architectural competitions, such as: Award of the Minister of Infrastructure and Development, "Diploma of the Year" named after Zbyszek Zawistowski organized by SARP, a competition for the best semester work named after Władysław Czarnecki, competition for the annual Polish-German Integration Award BDA-SARP for the project on shaping human social activity space, the competition "My Greater Poland" under the patronage of the Marshal of the Greater Poland Voivodship, the Greater Poland Voivode and the President of the City of Poznan organized by the Association of Polish Town Planners in Poznan, competition for the "Award of the City of Poznan" for the best MA thesis and doctoral dissertation, the competition " My Greater Poland" for diploma theses related to spatial planning in Greater Poland organized by the TUP Branch in Poznan, the International Velux Award, the Finsa Award, and many others.
The Faculty of Architecture is a leader in the number of beneficiaries of the Erasmus international program, under which it provides the opportunity to study at one of 42 renowned partner universities in one of 15 countries. Every year, approx. 80-100 students of the Faculty take part in the program.
In addition, the Faculty of Architecture of the Poznan University of Technology received the approval of the European Commission confirmed by an entry in Annex V point 5.7.1 of Directive 2005/36 / EC: The Architecture diploma at the Faculty of Architecture of the Poznan University of Technology is the basis for the automatic recognition of professional qualifications in the European Union, the European Economic District and the Swiss Confederation, and opens the way to full authorization to practice the profession of architect in the above-mentioned countries.
